Identifying the MIL

Do not confuse the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) with other dashboard warning lights.

The MIL is the light we sometimes refer to as the Check Engine or Service Engine Soon light. In some makes, you may still see it referred to as the Service Engine Soon light.

Note: The MIL (Check Engine Light) may be red, amber, or yellow.
