Viewing DTCs on a Scan Tool

DTCs can be viewed on any generic OBD II compatible scan tool by selecting the scan tool’s “read DTC” menu option.

As an inspector, you do not need to worry about doing this. The NYVIP scan tool software will automatically retrieve any DTCs and print the DTC numbers on the vehicle test printout.
