Readiness Status Review

The NYVIP scan tool will check to see if the vehicle’s onboard monitors have run to completion.

If too many monitors show up as NOT READY, the vehicle will NOT pass the inspection.

The test software will make this determination, and there may be exceptions, but for reference:

• 1996 through 2000 model year vehicles may have as many as TWO incomplete (NOT READY) monitors and still pass.

• 2001 and newer vehicles may have only ONE incomplete (NOT READY) non-continuous monitor and still pass.
