SUBJECT:
SOFTWARE UPDATE
This
message applies to all inspection stations that currently have
Snap-on/SUN or John Bean NYTEST inspection equipment. A new software
version has been approved for download to these inspection machines.
This software can be downloaded directly from Snap-on/SUN on your
NYTEST analyzer by following the instructions below.
In
order to insure uniformity of software versions, this update must
be installed by
04/03/2008.
You must install this version of the update in order to continue to
perform both NYTEST and NYVIP inspections at your facility.
Once
the new software update has been activated a full calibration process
will be required before any inspections can be performed.
The
inspection machines automatically check for updates on a regular
basis during the start-up process. The next time that the inspection
machine checks for an update, you should allow it to complete. If an
update is available, please proceed to step 5 below.
You
can ALSO manually request an update by using the following procedure:
Shut
down the analyzer.
Start
the analyzer and when the start up box opens, select the option for
âRemote software updateâ
The
Snap-on remote software update box will appear with directions
âpress enter to continue:, or it will continue automatically.
The
software will dial to the Snap-on server, then you will get a
message update version 7.00
is available.
After
the download is complete, the software will install and restart the
analyzer automatically.
After
the startup box appears, use the TAB and Arrow and Enter keys to
select Start Emission Analyzer.
After
the software opens on the Main Menu check the bottom of the screen
to verify that your software version is now 7.00.

inspection stations via the emissions analyzer units. They frequently contain important
