DMV Phone Number Changes

Call Center Phone Number Changes
DMV
is changing the phone numbers for the Call Centers for certain area
codes. These phone numbers are printed on every Inspection Receipt
to assist your customers.
Below
are the changes:
Effective
February 2, 2009:
Anyone
dialing from area codes 315, 518, 585, 607, and 716 will call
518-486-9786 for assistance. This number replaces 1-800-225-5368
(1-800 CALL-DMV).
Effective
February 9, 2009:
Anyone
dialing from area codes 516, 631, 845, and 914 will call 718-477-4820
for assistance. This number replaces 1-800-342-5368 (1-800 DIAL-DMV).
Callers
in area codes 212, 347, 646, 718, and 917 (New York City) will
continue to use 212-645-5550 and 718-966-6155. These numbers are not
affected.
DMV
will revise the numbers printed on the Inspection Receipt with the
next NYVIP software revision, but until then please be aware of and
advise your customers of the changes. If you have questions about
these changes, you may call Clean Air at 1-518-473-0597.
These are messages sent by NYS DMV to the
inspection stations via the emissions analyzer units. They frequently contain important
information, usage tips, or announcements of system changes.
