ESP Sticker Loading Problem

NYVIP MESSAGE No. 45 (2010)

DATE: February 11, 2010

TO: ALL ESP NYTEST INSPECTION STATIONS

FROM: NYS DEPT. OF MOTOR VEHICLES

SUBJECT: ESP NYTEST STICKER LOADING PROBLEM

This message is for stations with ESP NYTEST machines ONLY, Snap-On/SUN and SPX machines are NOT affected.

ESP has informed us that there is a software problem that is preventing stations from loading a new package of High Enhanced stickers (VS-1082E) in the NYTEST machine. The machine will refuse to load a new sticker package and may respond that it already has a sticker package that the station does not have.

ESP has determined that the problem is in the software and the solution requires a service call from the ESP service technician. There will be no charge for this service call. The problem only happens when loading a new sticker package and the repair needs to be done at that time. Please call ESP service at 1-800-695-4377 for a technician prior to loading any new stickers.

If you have any questions, please call ESP service at 1-800-695-4377, or Clean Air at 518-473-0597.
