NYVIP Software Update CD

Recently, SGS Testcom has mailed a software update CD with installation instructions to all upstate NYVIP inspection stations. The CD consists of corrections for software problems such as the failure of the analyzer to print the Daily Report and the lock-up problem on the older Isuzu models. It also contains software enhancements like displaying all reports and giving the operator the option to view on screen and/or to print the report. The list of changes that this update will contain are listed on the NYVIP website at www.NYVIP.US.

Our records indicate this update has not been performed by your facility. If it has been done please ignore this message.

The software update CD is easy to load by following the instructions that were provided and takes less than five minutes to load. If you have not received the update CD, instructions to load the software or require assistance, please contact the Help Desk at 866-469-8477.

If you received the update and have not loaded it into your NYVIP analyzer, do so right away. This update was required to be installed by 3/15/2005. Failure to load the update could result in an Administrative Stop being placed on your Facility License causing you to be locked out of the NYVIP analyzer and interrupting your ability to inspect vehicles until the update is performed and the stop is removed.

These are messages sent by NYS DMV to the inspection stations via the emissions analyzer units. They frequently contain important information, usage tips, or announcements of system changes.
