To All Stations: Motorist Information Publications

Stations can now obtain informational handouts for motorists on the NYVIP program from DMV. There are currently two publications available. They are:

C-113S – “Reality Check” (in English and Spanish)

C-114 – “What Do You Mean My Car’s Not Ready? – A Consumers Guide to Readiness Monitor Failures”

The publications can be viewed electronically at:

Requests for handouts can be either:

Please make sure that all requests include:

* The publication number and quantity of handouts needed (please limit quantity to 100 of each handout, per request).

* Station name and return street address. (Addresses with a PO Box number will not be accepted due to additional postal charges.)

* Contact Person’s Name

* Telephone Number



These are messages sent by NYS DMV to the inspection stations via the emissions analyzer units. They frequently contain important information, usage tips, or announcements of system changes.
